The Florida C.A.N.! mission is to create and strengthen a statewide network that catalyzes and supports communities to improve college and career preparation, access, and completion for all students. The Florida College Access Network empowers communities to work constructively alongside our schools and builds partnerships with universities, colleges, schools, community organizations, businesses, parents and students. Research shows today, Florida ranks slightly below the nation in the percentage of adults ages 25-64 who have a high-quality post-secondary degree or credential. Assuming that current trend continues, Florida is expected to fall substantially behind the nation on this measure in 2025. This will also leave the state short of the college-educated population needed to meet workforce demands and compete with best-performing nations.
BIG GOAL 2025: To increase the percentage of Floridians age 25 to 64 with a high-quality post-secondary degree or credential to 60% by 2025.
The Florida College Access Network approached NV Advertising requesting assistance with strategic tactical execution ideas to increase awareness of the problem that would ultimately positively influence the achievement of Florida Goal 2025.
One of the ideas NV Advertising presented was to develop a pledge form that key influential individuals and organizations could sign to express their commitment to helping the state of Florida achieve this goal. Upon signing up, individuals would both be automatically entered to receive regular emails from the organization which would in turn provide ideas, tools, information and resources for local ways that individual could make a difference in their local community and immediate surroundings to positively encourage degree attainment within the state of Florida. Persons would also be encouraged to follow the organization on major social media networks as a supplementary way to collectively be engaged with the movement.
